Results for America works with communities, policy-makers, and public programs to increase their impact by using evidence and data.

For this project, our goals were to make it easier to quickly understand RFA’s work and programs, streamline content architecture for a mix of different audiences, and situate their digital program for further growth in the coming years.

The challenge

Bringing data to life

As a major thought leader in their space, Results for America produces dozens of articles, reports, events, think pieces, and more on a very regular basis. In order to help users find what they are looking for, we implemented a vibrant color coding system and user-friendly iconography. We also worked to design and integrate a series of visually-engaging animated infographics to demonstrate the organization’s success, giving potential supporters a quick snapshot of their impacts. Additionally, we extended our collaboration with Results for America to build an interactive version of their widely distributed Federal Invest in What Works Index document and What Works Toolkit. Our driving philosophy with all of these creative elements was: “show don’t tell”. In aggregate, they solve for a profound — yet all too common — challenge: bringing complex ideas to illustrated, interactive life.

Results that work

Since launch, pageviews, number of returning visitors, number of pages per session, and number of shares on social media from the website have all increased. The site is now the home to over 300 resources and 9 different program areas. We also continue to work with the RFA team to produce new tools and interactive resources on the site as their work continues to grow and expand.
